Welcome
A World of Dolls shows my collection of dolls: from the 1860s to today, it encompasses antique and modern dolls, original and reproduction dolls, as well as dolls of all types: china head, bisque, composition, hard plastic, vinyl, cloth, and other miscellaneous materials.
Within this website, you can gain information on various types of dolls as well as their history. There will be a sale page for dolls and other items that are useful for dressing them.
In this collection is a doll from my childhood, a mid-1950s Terri Lee, a favorite of mine and one of which I have many to showcase. Another favorite from that same era are the Vogue Ginny dolls, a diminutive 8” doll with a multitude of original clothes that were designed by her creator, Virginia Graves, and made by women sewing from their home. These two dolls were the beginning of this assemblage.
However, the collection would not have grown to where it is today had it not been for two things that happened about the same time: a major life disappointment that had me looking in a new direction and the start of eBay. Through eBay and other internet sites, such as Ruby Lane and Theriault’s auctions, the collection has grown and encompasses many eras and many different types of dolls.
Enjoy!
